Makawao Third Friday Town Party: “Upcountry In Bloom”

Makawao, Maui, Hawaii — Join us Friday, May 18th from 6-9 PM in Historic Makawao Town.  Our Makawao 3rd Friday theme springs us into “Upcountry in Bloom” hosting our “Green Zone” to celebrate upcountry florists, lei makers and sustainability organizations.

Baldwin Avenue is closed from the top of Makawao Avenue down to Brewer Street, where guests joining our M3F block party can enjoy wonderful entertainment & good eats on the street with lots of food trucks, vendor booths, arts and crafts, and the Komoda Keiki Zone. With plenty of great local shopping and restaurants, this rain or shine FREE community event is a great time for everyone!

LIVE MUSIC, MAGIC, ENTERTAINMENT, & FUN THINGS TO DO:

  • M3F welcomes Makawao 3rd Friday all-time favorite, the wonderful Nat & Rio Ritmo to our main stage (next to Rodeo General store). Dr. Nat and Rio Ritmo have been on Maui for over 20 years playing a spicy salsa of Tropical Latin Dance Music…always fun to move and groove with.
  • Fire Dancer extraordinaire, Travis French’s Exhibition of Tales of Fire, in front of the main stage during band break, 7:15.
  • Our favorite acoustic guitarist and M3F relic Josh, will be playing to the rhythms of old school, to new school hits, in the Maui Hands lot across from Casanova’s on Makawao Avenue.
  • Spirit Tribe & Poni Brendan, showing their rock from the heart songs, on the Sherrie Reeve Gallery/Tiger Eye lanai.
  • Enjoy the upbeat funky soulful sounds from DJ Shoktimus Prime—on the lanai at Gecko Trading Co.

KOMODA BAKERY LOT “KEIKI ZONE”:

  • Not just for kids! We are excited to continue our Komoda Keiki zone this month including the Da Bounce Mega Mod jumping castle and slide. Hop on the for happy, fun times!
  • More for the keiki — Crystalline with her fantastic balloon twisting creations, and Shelly Tiss creating her one-of-a-kind artistic face paintings, bubbles, magic, and more.

 CONTINUING DOWN BALDWIN AVE

  • Maui Classic Cruisers Club will be showing off their hot rods, muscle cars, and vintage machines at the top of Baldwin Avenue to the bottom by Brewer Road. Guests can talk story with some of Maui’s coolest car owners, aunties, uncles and Makawao historians.
  • Come & visit our MMA & M3F information booth at the top of Baldwin Avenue. It’s a place where friendly volunteers can answer visitor’s questions, view our vendor map, lost & found, contribute to our Raise a Tent campaign, and purchase our awesome Makawao Town t-shirts and totes.
  • Shaka Movement – committed to protecting and preserving Maui ‘aina.
